Texas will no require proof citizenship for handing out driver’s licenses. Undocumented immigrants no need apply.
I’ve spoken about this issue in the past. It is stupid. Not giving out licenses is not going to deter people from driving. I’m lucky to live in a place where I have access to very good public transportation but most undocumented people in small towns don’t have access to buses. They will continue to drive. They have in all the other states.
This sort of measure just makes it more dangerous to be on the road because there are less uninsured people out there. And for those who say it is for security, I think it is more secure to know where people live. But hey, that’s logical and most don’t understand such thing.
