How can one be positive when stuff like the following raid are happening. 330 people according to an article I found. That’s an incredible number.
I worry, you know why? Because my parents work in those kinds of industries. I’m protected at my university because I am a college student and my university is the last place ICE would look for someone like myself. But them. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about what could happen to them. What would happen to me if it happened to them? I would probably go insane. Would I leave with them?
Maybe. I have friends here but that is all. I have no more family here that I could stay with, especially during the summer. What will I do without my family?
What happened in Greenville is just another show of force. Once again ICE has struck fear into a community that has very little. Is there no shame, in picking on the lowest of the low? What about the employers? What about NAFTA? What about actually trying to find a solution. And before anyone says that the tactics are working. I’m sorry to say but if there are less immigrants coming, it would be because the economy is going down the toilet before our very eyes.
