Well, this is interesting. It seems that Wisconsin wants to give immigrants the right to drive. Just that. I hope this idea moves forward in other states, like mine. Less and less state allow undocumented immigrants to drive. As I’ve said before, it is a bad policy because people need to drive. They need to go to their jobs and makes the unwanted crimes of people driving without licenses because they cannot get one. I hope this passes through, even if it is a little weird to have separate licenses for us.
Utah has already done this and it seems to be working for them.

Utah used to issue Driving Privilege cards to immigrants until recently. In January of 2009, Utah passed a law basically telling immigrants they are not welcome here anymore and does not let you have a license. I’m not sure about Wisconsin but I know Utah doesn’t allow immigrants the right to drive anymore.
